Highlight of the week: Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
(Genre: Stealth action – Developer: Konami – Release: August 29, 2025 (Steam)
The legendary Metal Gear Solid series finally returns to PC. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is the lavishly modernized remake of the third installment in the series—still revered by fans today for its dense Cold War atmosphere and gripping jungle action.
As elite agent Naked Snake, you are dropped behind enemy lines in 1964 to avert a nuclear threat. Thanks to the new graphics engine, the dense Soviet jungle shines with impressive detail, while rustling leaves, pouring rain, and vibrant wildlife make for an even more immersive stealth experience.
In terms of gameplay, much remains the same: you disguise yourself with various camouflage outfits, treat injuries in real time, and sneak past guards or silently take them out with the famous CQC close combat. Legendary boss fights such as the sniper duel against The End or the emotional showdown with The Boss have been reimagined, guaranteeing goosebumps even 24 years after release.
For veterans, this remake is a wonderful trip down memory lane, while for newcomers it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up on a piece of video game history. However, the title still struggles with a few technical issues on the PC – more on this in our review:
