In the fourth week of July 2025, you can look forward to exciting new releases on Steam: from bloody zombie battles to thrilling space adventures. What are your favorites?

The fourth week of July 2025 brings plenty of variety to Steam. From merciless zombie carnage to a dark journey to ancient China to various strategy and building games, there’s something for everyone. As every Monday, we present an overview of the most exciting new Steam releases of the week.

Highlight of the week: Killing Floor 3

Genre: Co-op shooter – Developer: Tripwire Interactive – Release: July 24, 2025 (Steam)

The iconic co-op shooter is back for another round – and this time it’s even bloodier than before. In Killing Floor 3,, you join forces with up to five other players as the Nightfall special forces unit to fight waves of Zeds (mutant zombie monsters) in the dystopian future of 2091.

The tried-and-tested formula remains the same: keep shooting hordes of enemies, earn money (Dosh), upgrade your weapons, and then take on increasingly tougher opponents – until the boss finally appears.

Part 3 of the series comes with some fresh ideas: The artificial intelligence of the Zeds has been improved so that they are even smarter when they come after you. Your arsenal is bigger and more versatile than ever: from flamethrowers to shotguns to katanas, everything you need to finish off the undead beasts is included.

Above all, a new dismemberment system (called Meat 2.0) makes the carnage more impressive than ever – enemies realistically lose individual limbs and the battlefield remains covered in blood throughout the game.

Killing Floor 3 is a gory extravaganza that co-op shooter fans are sure to enjoy—provided the developers can iron out the various technical and game design issues that significantly detracted from the fun during the first beta.

  • The King is Watching: In this roguelite building game, your subjects only work when the king is watching them with his own eyes. As the monarch of a fantasy world, you mine resources, build villages and castles, and train peasants to become soldiers – but woe betide you if you take your eyes off them, or production will grind to a halt! The King is Watching combines classic building strategy with a crisp roguelite loop.

    • Wildgate: The new co-op shooter from the Dreamhaven veterans (including former Blizzard developers) sends you on intergalactic raids. In Wildgate, you and your team glide through space in stylish space suits, board enemy spaceships, and engage in fierce battles – both on foot in the ship’s corridors and in daring space battles.

    • Hell Clock: The name says it all: In this action RPG, the clock is ticking mercilessly against you. Hell Clock transports you to 19th-century Brazil, where you descend into the depths of hell as a hero to save the soul of your mentor. Every second counts in the fight against undead hordes and demonic bosses – the longer you linger in the procedural dungeons, the more powerful your enemies become.
    • UnderMine 2 (Early Access): The charming dungeon crawler UnderMine returns with a sequel – and this time, you can even descend into the mines with a friend. Part 2 is launching in Early Access and introduces new co-op features: Two players explore the procedurally generated underground levels full of traps, treasures, and monsters together. Of course, there are also tons of relics, upgrades, and secret rooms hidden away.
    • Luto: Not for the faint of heart: Luto is a psychological horror adventure in which you are trapped in your own house. You take on the role of a person in deep mourning who is trying to escape their eerie home – but every attempt to escape only leads deeper into a surreal nightmare. With no classic combat, Luto focuses on a dense atmosphere and nerve-wracking exploration. Dark corridors, disturbing visions, and oppressive silence tug at your mind as you solve puzzles interwoven with themes of loss and depression.
    • Grimshire (Early Access): As a farmer in a Victorian-inspired village, you cultivate fields, raise animals, and provide for your fellow citizens. But a mysterious plague is spreading, killing people and livestock unless you find an antidote in time. • WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers: An atmospheric soulslike action RPG that puts you in the shoes of Wuchang, a swordswoman in a dark world full of superstition and violence. In 17th-century China, you search for the cause of a supernatural plague that causes people to grow mysterious feathers. On your journey through dilapidated villages, foggy forests, and imposing temple ruins, you’ll face terrifying enemies straight out of Chinese folklore. After Black Myth: Wukong, this could be the next action-adventure hit from the Far East.

    • Let Them Trade (Early Access): Trade is the name of the game here! Let Them Trade is a cozy city-building and economic simulation game with a special focus on trade. In a world of wooden block graphics, you found your own little kingdom and must make it flourish through skillful trading. You construct production buildings for resources, build marketplaces and roads, and watch as your subjects transport the goods produced from place to place. By cleverly exploiting supply and demand in different cities, you fill your warehouses and treasuries and can finance further expansions.
    • MAVRIX by Matt Jones (Early Access): Two mountain bike games in one week? In MAVRIX, you can hop on your bike and tear up a huge open world full of downhill tracks. This extreme sports game (developed in collaboration with MTB pro Matt Jones) focuses on an authentic riding experience: thanks to realistic physics, you control your bike with dual stick controls, balance in corners, apply the front and rear brakes, and land spectacular jumps.

      • Ascent of Ashes (Early Access): Colony building meets real-time tactics: Ascent of Ashes combines building strategy with challenging combat in a post-apocalyptic world. You take control of a group of survivors who want to build a new home from the ruins after the collapse of civilization. You build a base, gather food and resources, and erect defenses – because enemy looters are lurking everywhere. Unlike other games in this genre, Ascent of Ashes requires you to engage in combat yourself: in tactical, pausable real-time skirmishes, you command your people and use cover, weapons, and special abilities to fend off attackers.

Whether you’re moving to ancient China, taking on hordes of mutants with a shotgun, or prefer to go on a space-faring adventure, this week could be an exciting one! As always, this is just a selection of the most interesting new releases; there are many more to discover in the store. Which games are on your wish list this week?
