This week, several eagerly awaited new releases await you on Steam – the world’s most requested game is just one of many highlights.
It’s going to be a really exciting week on Steam: Several highly anticipated titles are being released – first and foremost, of course, the world’s most wanted Steam game, Hollow Knight: Silksong, which is currently on over 5.2 million people’s wish lists.
But there’s much more to discover! As we do every Monday, we’re bringing you a compact overview of the most important PC releases of the week.
Highlight of the week: Hollow Knight: Silksong
Genre: Metroidvania – Developer: Team Cherry – Release: September 4, 2025 (Steam)
The long-awaited sequel to the indie hit Hollow Knight is finally here after a long wait. This time, you take on the role of Hornet, the princess and protector of the former kingdom of Hallownest, who is abducted to a strange land of silk and song.
In terms of gameplay, you can expect the familiar mix of exploration, challenging combat, and intricate level design—but at a much faster pace.
Hornet is more agile than the nameless knight from part 1:
she sprints, jumps more acrobatically, and can string together combos that make the combat even more dynamic.
Another new feature is that Hornet can craft tools: you can use collected resources to build traps, bombs, healing items, and other useful utensils.
Of course, the merciless difficulty level remains the same: Over 150 new enemy types stand in Hornet’s way – from small spiked creatures to huge boss monsters with complex attack patterns. Thanks to a quest system in which NPCs give you assignments, you might even get a bit of an RPG feel.p>

- Hell is Us: Here, the protagonist returns to his homeland ravaged by civil war – only to discover that something even more terrifying is now wreaking havoc there. Hell is Us confronts you with supernatural creatures that suddenly appear after a mysterious catastrophe and terrorize the population. However, you are not heavily armed, you have to defend yourself with melee weapons such as swords, axes, or halberds. The lack of modern convenience features adds to the excitement: there are no map markers or quest logs – you have to explore the semi-open world yourself and draw the right conclusions from conversations with NPCs.
- Kemono Teatime: Animal ears and teapots: This sugar-sweet mix of visual novel and café management invites you to relax. In Kemono Teatime, you take over a small teahouse in the picturesque town of Melodius, where all the residents have cute animal ears. Between shifts, heartwarming dialogues and maybe even romances unfold.

What’s particularly exciting is that your conclusions and decisions influence the course of the story. If you miss an important clue or accuse the wrong perpetrator, it can drastically change the outcome of the case.

- Cronos: The New Dawn: In this survival horror game, you battle not only bloodthirsty creatures, but also time itself. As a so-called Traveler for a secret organization, you jump back and forth between a grim future and the past: In a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a failed experiment, you fight your way through dilapidated brutalist cities and research facilities. To avert disaster, you must travel back to 1980s Poland and correct certain fates before they fall victim to the catastrophic event. The creepy atmosphere, somewhere between Stalker, Silent Hill, and 12 Monkeys, does the rest to send chills down your spine.
- Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion: Japanese mech action is back! In Titanic Scion, you once again climb into your customizable combat robot and experience thrilling anime-style battles. This time, however, you can not only control your mech in designated arenas, but also fly freely around an open sci-fi world. You’ll complete missions for different factions, loot the remains of fallen enemies for usable components, and continuously upgrade your machine – whether with new rocket launchers, energy blades, or armor-piercing railguns. Thanks to the new co-op option, you can optionally join up to two other players in battle to take down colossal boss mechs together.
- NBA 2K26: The annual basketball simulation from 2K hits the court with updated roster data and several gameplay improvements. NBA 2K26 features all the teams and stars of the 2025/26 season with detailed player and arena recreations. This time around, the developers promise even more realistic gameplay: Revised shot timing, smarter AI defense, and new animations are designed to ensure authentic matches. In career mode, you guide your custom-created player from the draft to the Hall of Fame, while online in MyTeam, you can once again invest your cash in loot boxes.
- SHUTEN ORDER: Five games in one: This unusual adventure from Japan breaks genre boundaries. Shuten Order tells the story of a powerful island nation on the brink of doom – and you must solve a murder case that is deeply entangled with the impending apocalypse. What makes it special: there are five main suspects, and depending on who you focus on, the game develops in completely different ways. Each suspect represents a different genre and chapter: sometimes you sneak through dark corridors in a survival horror scenario, sometimes you puzzle your way through a detective puzzle, while another chapter plays out like a fast-paced action platformer. The storylines branch out enormously, and only when you’ve played through them all does the great mystery come together.
- Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots: The fun golf series makes its PC debut! Swing your club in colorful landscapes with accessible three-click controls that beginners can understand right away, but which offer enough depth for pros to figure out the perfect shot.
