This week on Steam, you can look forward to dark horror adventures, epic strategy battles, and unusual indie experiments—we’ll show you the most exciting new releases.

The coming week has lots of exciting new releases in store for PC gamers! While strategy gamers can enjoy new 4X worlds, building fans can celebrate fresh city-building games set in Rome, Tenochtitlan, and ancient China.

Sports enthusiasts will also be reunited with a familiar top dog, and an unusual TV simulator promises charming retro madness. However, the highlight of the week is a Japanese horror classic that takes you back to the 1960s and aims to return the series to its roots.

Highlight of the week: Silent Hill f

(Genre: Survival horror – Developer: NeoBards Entertainment – Release: September 25, 2025 (Steam)

Silent Hill ventures into 1960s Japan with Silent Hill f, combining classic psychological horror atmosphere with a completely new setting. You’ll experience the story of schoolgirl Hinako, who ends up in a seemingly idyllic village that suddenly turns into a grotesque nightmare.

The developers are relying on a new sanity system that influences your perception: If Hinako loses her mind, her surroundings, sounds, and even enemies become distorted, so you can never be sure if what you’re seeing is real. This is combined with melee combat mechanics: instead of guns, you’ll find improvised weapons such as iron pipes or knives that can break.

Your decisions also have real consequences: Depending on how you deal with characters and threats, you can expect alternative endings – from complete madness to a glimmer of hope. Visually, the creators rely on contrasts: Beauty in horror
is the motto when magnificent flowers and surreal dream sequences merge with repulsive body horror.

  • Renown (Early Access): A medieval survival game à la Rust with a strong PvP focus. You start naked and without resources, collect wood, stone, and ore, and use them to build your first shelters. Soon you’ll be building impressive fortresses, joining clans, and leading siege battles against other players. The battles are powerfully staged and reminiscent of titles such as Chivalry or Mordhau in their intensity, but with a clear focus on long-term base building.

  • ENDLESS Legend 2 (Early Access): Amplitude Studios is moving its famous 4X series to a completely new environment: In the sequel to the acclaimed fantasy strategy game, you build empires on a world sinking into chaos. The tides gradually reveal new land that you can colonize with your cities or conquer with your armies. Five fundamentally different factions each have their own strengths, philosophies, and play styles that come into play in economics, diplomacy, and turn-based combat. Each game tells a new story of the rise and fall of entire civilizations.

  • Deadly Days: Roadtrip (Early Access): The chaotic zombie roguelike is getting a standalone expansion called Roadtrip. Instead of holing up in a base, this time you’ll be traveling through the apocalypse in a converted school bus. Your vehicle serves as a mobile base that you can upgrade, repair, and expand with new features such as workshops or additional weapon slots.

  • Celestial Empire (Early Access): Fans of building games can look forward to a journey to ancient China. In Celestial Empire, you build provincial cities with authentic structures from the Han and Tang dynasties. It’s not just about resource management: the goodwill of the gods also plays a role, because rituals and offerings influence the fate of your city.

  • Aztecs: The Last Sun (Early Access): Here, you find yourself in the Aztec Empire. You build the metropolis of Tenochtitlan in the middle of Lake Texcoco and juggle three pillars of power: economy, religion, and military. Every decision influences the fate of your civilization—from establishing a functioning agricultural system to waging war against rival tribes.
  • Pompeii: The Legacy (Early Access): Twenty years after the eruption of Vesuvius, you take on the role of governor of Pompeii. Your task is to rebuild the city, manage its citizens, and revive its economic life. Each family has its own family trees, privileges, and needs that you must take into account.

  • Baby Steps: A so-called “rage game” that literally reinvents walking: Baby Steps is a walking simulator in which every step is physically calculated. You control Nate, an unemployed man in his thirties who stumbles hilariously through foggy mountains.
  • Blippo+: A simulator with a difference: Blippo+ transforms your screen into a retro television set. Over 100 actors were filmed in fictional shows, news programs, and commercials that you can freely zap through. But behind the flashy surface lurks a mystery. In forums, menus, and hidden channels, you’ll find clues to a larger conspiracy. With the time travel function, you can even jump back to past TV weeks to solve unsolved mysteries. Anyone who liked Her Story or Immortality will get their money’s worth here.

    • Hades 2: After nearly two years in Early Access, Hades 2 is finally celebrating its full release. Supergiant Games delivers an even bigger, more expansive version of the acclaimed rogue-lite, which, in addition to new weapons and locations, also puts fresh gods from Greek mythology in the spotlight. The story has also been expanded for version 1.0: In addition to new cutscenes, you can expect additional god interactions and expanded dialogue options that further enhance the feeling of being part of a living pantheon.

    • Lost Rift (Early Access): A mix of survival and extraction shooter. You are stranded on a tropical island, where you first set up camp and then embark on dangerous expeditions. Whether alone or in a team of five, the goal is to gather resources, fight monsters, and improve your base.
    • Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds: Mario Kart, but with Sonic. CrossWorlds expands the familiar arcade racing experience with interdimensional tracks: using so-called Travel Rings, you can jump into completely new environments during a race – from futuristic cities to asteroid fields.
    • Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian: The latest installment in the JRPG series introduces two protagonists who battle their way through a colorful fantasy world. In addition to classic exploration, you can expect roguelite dungeons that offer new maps, enemies, and rewards with every visit.

    • EA SPORTS FC 26: The annual top dog in soccer is back in the starting blocks. FC 26 brings revamped animations, smoother dribbling, and smarter AI movements. Off the pitch, there are new features in Career Mode with dynamic manager challenges, more freedom of choice, and new tournament formats. Ultimate Team has fresh live events, and Clubs now offers the option to join multiple teams at the same time or play as a goalkeeper.
    • Macabre (Early Access): Co-op horror with extraction gameplay. You traverse procedurally generated dimensions, sneak past monsters, and must work as a team to find your way back to the real world.
