Things are heating up on Steam this week: an open-world RPG, medieval sieges, and the “ultimate” life simulation await you.

Things are heating up on Steam this week: an RPG heavyweight is making its Steam debut, while another title promises you the ultimate life simulation. As always, we’ve got you covered with an overview of the week’s most important Steam releases.

Highlight of the week: Wuthering Waves

(Genre: Open-world RPG – Developer: Kuro Games – Release: April 28 (Steam)

After a long wait, Wuthering Waves is finally being released on Steam. The free-to-play open-world RPG is set in the post-apocalyptic fantasy world of Solaris-3 and has already attracted over 30 million players on smartphones, consoles, and the Epic Store.

You can expect a vast game world with dynamic real-time combat, where quick dodges, crisp combos, and tactical switching between different characters decide victory or defeat – much like in Genshin Impact

The gacha system for unlocking new characters will certainly not appeal to everyone, but the rest of the package aims to win you over with world-building, an emotional story, and spectacular visual effects.

It remains to be seen whether Wuthering Waves can hold its own against the established competition – but the fact that it is finally available on Steam should delight many PC gamers who are not fans of mobile gaming or the Epic Store.

  • Private Military Manager (Early Access): In this unusual mix of management simulation and auto battler, you take on the role of the CEO of a private military company. You recruit skilled mercenaries, purchase weapons, and develop your troops according to their individual roles and characteristics.
