Steam releases of the week: From clever strategy to relentless action—keep an eye on these new games.
February kicks off with a bang for strategists: While the German developers at Overhype Studios are transferring their tactical genius to the dark expanses of space, Team Ninja is returning to its roots to teach you the meaning of fear. But that’s not all – we’re back with a compact overview of all the important Steam releases of the week.

Highlight of the week: MENACE
(Genre: Turn-based tactics – Developer: Overhype Studios – Release: February 5, 2026 (Steam)
The long-awaited “sequel” is here: Those who have spent countless hours keeping their mercenary squad alive in Battle Brothers can now breathe a sigh of relief—or rather, hold their breath.
Overhype Studios leaves the dark Middle Ages behind and sends you to the most dangerous corners of space in Menace, or more precisely, to the Wayback system. Instead of swords and shields, you’ll be fighting alien threats and human factions with storm rifles, tanks, and mechs. You’ll lead a task force that must pacify sector by sector, while procedurally generated missions ensure that no two playthroughs are alike. nbsp;
The battles take place in 3D on a turn-based system and require forward planning: cover, lines of sight, and suppressive fire are essential to avoid being overrun by the often numerically superior AI. Between missions, you manage your mobile base, the TCRN Impetus spaceship, recruit new units, buy equipment on the black market, and decide which emergency call to respond to next.
As with its spiritual predecessor, death is a constant companion in Menace. If you lose one of your carefully trained squad leaders, they are permanently dead, which can ruin entire playthroughs.
