The Ayaneo Next 2 gaming handheld offers a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with Radeon 8060S and is the first to feature an internal battery.

The first handheld with a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor was officially unveiled in July. However, the manufacturer GDP still opted for a design with an external battery for the Win 5. The announced OneXPlayer OneXfly Apex handheld also features the same processor and an internal battery.

The first gaming handheld with AMD’s flagship processor and an internal battery

Ayaneo has unveiled the Next II, a new gaming handheld that is also equipped with AMD’s fastest processor. For the first time, however, the handheld comes with an internal battery instead of an external one.

The built-in battery is said to offer 115 kWh, making it significantly larger than the external batteries offered by competitors, which offer less than 90 kWh but are replaceable.

The Windows-based handheld is powered by a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor with 16 Zen 5 processor cores and a Radeon 8060S. Ayaneo has not yet provided any information about the memory.

The 9.04-inch (approx. 23 cm) OLED screen has a resolution of 2,400 x 1,504 pixels and offers refresh rates of 60, 90, 120, 144, and 165 Hz. Ayaneo also specifies the brightness as 1,600 nits.

For input devices, Ayaneo relies on Hall effect joysticks, linear Hall triggers, dual-mode trigger locks that switch between linear and microswitch response, and an 8-way D-pad for precise directional input.

In addition, there are two smart touchpads, four buttons on the back, and a magnetically levitated haptic motor that is designed to provide more precise vibration feedback.

Ayaneo also promotes a special cooling solution that relies on multiple heat sinks and heat pipes and is supplied with air by two axial fans.

The known technical data is as follows:

Information on price, weight, memory, and availability date is still missing. The two competing products mentioned above start at around €1,750.

Now we want to hear your opinion. What do you think of the handheld? Does it hit all the right notes, or are there other things that are more important to you? Feel free to leave us a comment.
