No, it’s not Bioshock 4, but the parallels to Judas don’t come from anywhere: Ghost Story Games – Ken Levine’s new studio – is responsible for the shooter

If this trailer makes you think of Bioshock, you’re not far wrong: Judas is the new shooter from Ken Levine. And this is, of course, the creator of the cult game series that first took us to Rapture on the ocean floor and then to Columbia among the clouds.

Judas shows a lot of the story and a bit of gameplay in the trailer

Judas is now being created by Ghost Story Games, the development studio currently led by Levine. At the latest State of Play there is now a fresh story trailer for Judas, which even comes with a handful of gameplay snippets.

Just take a look for yourself:

What else you should know about the Bioshock heir

And yes, the parallels to Bioshock are of course obvious: We fight against human adversaries and mechanical killing machines, firearm in one hand and elemental superpowers in the other. This time, however, we are not at the bottom of the sea or among the clouds, but on board the Mayflower space station.

As in Rapture or Columbia, nothing is going right here. The new trailer teases the dystopian sci-fi setting in which we (or rather our title heroine) have to repair something that we have previously broken. Perhaps the realization has something to do with the fact that the inhabitants of Mayflower have been systematically manipulated and spied on for years …

According to Ghost Story Games,

Judas will be a story-driven single-player shooter full of psychological elements in which our decisions play an important role.  There is currently no release date, Judas will be released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Our in-house shooter expert Phil Elsner has high hopes and expectations for Judas. Find out more in the list of his most anticipated games of the coming years. And if you’re wondering what the current status of Bioshock 4 is, we can of course also help you. Just take a look at the links above.
