The AM Infinity gaming mouse from manufacturer Angry Miao aims to combine an “ultralight design” with an unusual energy concept.

On the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, you can always find some concepts that attract attention with striking promises and thus go through the roof.

For a few days now, the “AM Infinity” mouse from the manufacturer “Angry Miao” has been able to count itself among them. After all, the “ultralight mouse with an infinite battery” was able to collect around 180,000 euros.

However, the peripherals can only partially deliver on their promise, as a glance at the associated Kickstarter campaign shows.

  • Because in reality it is a simple exchange system: the “AM Infinity” mouse has a magnetically attached battery that can be replaced in under two seconds.
  • While one battery is in use in the mouse, the second is charging in the included USB dongle. This system is designed to allow you to continue playing without interruption when the battery is running low.

The built-in batteries each have a capacity of 340 mAh and deliver different runtimes depending on the sampling rate set: up to 43 hours at 1,000 Hz and still 17 hours at the high-resolution 8,000 Hz setting. Alternatively, the mouse can also be operated and charged via a USB-C cable.

Another feature of the Infinity Mouse is its skeletonized housing made of a magnesium-aluminum alloy, which ensures a total weight of 49 grams. If the mouse is used with the cable and without a battery, the weight is even reduced to about 39 grams.

The ergonomics of the 118 x 64.4 x 39.5 millimeter mouse have been optimized according to the manufacturer through extensive testing and user feedback to ensure comfort even during long gaming sessions.

  • The Infinity Mouse is equipped with Pixart’s PAW3950 sensor, which supports a maximum acceleration of 50G and a resolution of up to 30,000 dpi. The manufacturers quote a sampling rate of up to 8,000 hertz.
  • The mouse offers five software-programmable buttons: the left and right mouse buttons, the middle mouse button, and two side buttons that can be reached with the thumb.
  • For the switches, Angry Miao relies on new TTC Orange Dot Optical V2 microswitches, which are designed to provide a pleasant clicking sensation and reliable input.

In terms of connections, AM Infinity also mentions connectivity options with a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, Bluetooth 5.1 and the common USB-C port.

Interested parties can support the mouse at a starting price of around 144 euros. However, as with all crowdfunding projects, there is a certain financial risk for early supporters.
