Capcom has released new material for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.
The focus is on a new story clip titled “Go Forth” and a 13-minute developer walkthrough.
The Monster Hunter Stories 3 trailer is being released a few weeks before launch and provides additional details about the turn-based RPG. The game will be available on March 13 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
Monster Hunter Stories 3 trailer focuses on the story
The new Monster Hunter Stories 3 trailer clearly focuses on the plot. Twisted Reflection once again combines the familiar Monster Hunter universe with a more narrative role-playing structure.
Players take on the role of a Rider and team up with so-called Monsties to face new threats. The trailer hints at major conflicts within the game world without giving away any key story elements.
13-minute walkthrough shows gameplay details
At the same time, Capcom released a detailed developer video. In it, Lead Gameplay Designer Daisuke Wakahara guides viewers through the game’s core mechanics.
Among other things, the video shows:
- The role of the Rider within the story
- Character creation and customization options
- Advanced tactical options in the turn-based combat system
- Egg hunting and Monstie breeding
- Habitat Restoration as an additional feature
The combat system continues to be based on the familiar principle of attack types, but is designed to offer more strategic depth through additional mechanics.
Collecting, raising, and strategic battles
Like its predecessors, part three also focuses on collecting monster eggs. The bond with the Monsties plays an important role both in battle and in the progression of the story.
Habitat Restoration also appears to be a new element that can influence certain areas of the game world.
