Everquest Legends is a remake of the original Everquest. However, it sticks to the nostalgic look of 1999.
Everquestfrom 1999 andEverquest 2from 2004 are still active MMOs in 2026, but over the decades they have also become increasingly modernized – edges have been rounded off, effects have been made more fluid.
But if you miss the real old-school magic of yesteryear, you can now look forward to a new edition that aims to capture exactly that:Everquest Legends.
An MMO for solo adventurers
Under publisher Daybreak Game Company (Everquest, Clone Wars Adventures), the new studio Game Jawn is developing a new version of the original Everquest.
Everquest Legends is intended to be a game for in-between games that you can also play solo without any problems. So while it will be possible to wander around in groups of four and take on raids with eight people, it is also being developed explicitly for solo players.
While the look is very similar to the original, new features ensure a step into the modern age. For example, you can assign three classes to your character, making a total of 560 different combinations possible.
The user interface is also set to become more intuitive. In future, you will be able to manage spells and abilities clearly.
You should be able to manage spells and abilities clearly in future.
Let’s get started with the closed beta
You can now register for the closed beta on theofficial website. With a bit of luck, you’ll be selected and can soon set off for Norrath. The beta starts in April 2026, but Everquest Legends will be available to everyone in July 2026.
At launch, you will be able to travel to the continent of Antonica. All 15 playable races that you already know from the original Everquest will then be available to you, including the reptilian Iksar, the frog-like creatures Frogloks, and the humanoid cats called Kerran.
