Bungie is making changes to the in-game real-money currency Lux. Players had complained about it, and now there’s a small compensation.

Marathon has only just launched, and Bungie is already tweaking the microtransactions. Specifically, it’s about the real-money currency Lux. It is sold in bundles, which caused discontent among players because they were very obviously intended to encourage the purchase of larger amounts.

For $10, you currently get 1,100 Lux, which is 20 points less than you need for Runner skins. Bungie is now adjusting this value. Anyone who has already purchased it will receive a corresponding credit.

This is to be fixed first

Starting with the hotfix, you will get exactly 1120 Lux in the $10 bundle. The 20 points will be credited retroactively, so they should end up in your account. There will be no changes to the other currency bundles for the time being. According to Bungie, however, they are taking fan criticism of Battle Pass and Co. seriously and are considering how to improve it.

The first major update for Marathon is scheduled to go live next week, but an exact date has not yet been announced. The first patch notes are already available:

  • Increases the distance at which objective navigation points appear from 10 to 20 meters.
  • Increases the number of med kits and ammo boxes that spawn on the perimeter.
  • Increases the amount of starting ammunition in MIDA, CyberAcme, and free Arachne Sponsored Kits.

The rest of the changes will be announced when the update is released. Read more about the latest developments in the shooter here:

The comments below the fix announcement are still full of complaints about FPS drops and CPU bottlenecks. However, Marathon is also receiving a lot of praise, with 88 percent of user reviews on Steam being positive.
