Publisher Nacon recently released a making of video for Lord of the Rings Gollum. In it, developers and voice actors go into detail about Gollum’s personality and the storytelling that comes with it.

After a long wait, the time has indeed finally come. In less than a week, Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be released for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Before the big release date, the developers speak out once again and go into the creation of the main character Gollum himself in a video. He was chosen as the main character of the game because he is one of the most complex characters in the books  His two personalities are in constant conflict with each other, fighting for the upper hand of his mind.
As the end of the game, it is up to us to choose between the two personalities and take an appropriate course of action. As one scene shows, for example, we have the option of actively going into battle or preferring to sneak in secret.

It has also been a challenge for voice actor Wayne Forester to authentically convey this inner conflict. However, as the video shows, he seems to have had great fun dealing with the two personalities. It’s also amazing how similar his performance is to Andy Serkis’ (Gollum in the films) masterful performance.

Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be available on May 25  A release for the Nintendo Switch is also planned at a later date.
