The Diablo competitor is still plagued by disconnections and extremely long loading times. The developers show self-irony

When a game has a successful release, there is usually cause for celebration among fans and developers alike.

In the case of Last Epoch however, both sides are currently rather dissatisfied. This is because the action role-playing game is currently still struggling with major server problems, precisely because of its great success. The game director of the Diablo competitor has now commented on the current situation.

Surprised by the onslaught despite simulations

Judd Cobler, game director and founder of the developer studio Eleventh Hour Games, has commented on Reddit on the current problems surrounding the servers of Last Epoch

In a detailed article, he explains, among other things, thatwithin 20 minutes of the launch, 150,000 players wanted to access the servers – an onslaught that overwhelmed the infrastructure. The team had made preparations in advance, but as Cobler himself explains:

The success] meant that all our scaling tests were immediately put to the test, and unfortunately one service went down in a way we hadn’t anticipated, and we immediately got to work investigating and resolving the issue.

As well matured as milk

Judd Cobler also demonstrates self-irony by referring to a Reddit post he had written just one day earlier, in which he wrote:

After the extensive testing we’ve done, it should be stable unless we have some really crazy demand. […] We have been preparing intensively and have every reason to believe that we will be in good shape on launch day.

Cobler himself sums up: His contribution as well matured as milk

Of course, we have already prepared other exciting and informative articles about Last Epoch for you. In the articles linked above, you can find out why the Steam reviews are increasingly penalizing the game and how you can reach level 100 with your character in no time at all.

In the meantime, server stability has at least improved somewhat. Have you already been able to play Last Epoch in detail and if so, how well or less well do you like the action role-playing game? Let us know in the comments!
