The upcoming update, “Beyond Justice,” takes you to the homeworlds of the Terminids. In their caves, you’ll have to face new, disgusting crawling creatures without orbital support.

The surface of Earth is currently trembling in Helldivers 2 in the face of relentless attacks by the insect-like Terminids. But humanity is no longer willing to put up with this and is launching a counterattack!

Not only has the co-op shooter been available on Xbox since August 26, resulting in a steady influx of fresh recruits, but on Tuesday, September 2, the extensive new update Beyond Justice will be released, finally bringing the fight to the home worlds of the Terminids.

And there, the brave Helldivers will face completely new, unknown challenges, because for the first time, they will go underground on the breeding worlds of the creepy-crawlies.

What should you expect?

At the heart of the  Beyond Justice update are the so-called Hive Worlds. In the Helldivers universe, these are planets that have been swallowed up by the spore cloud known as The Gloom. The worlds then become breeding grounds for the insects.

And it is precisely this situation that you will soon be tasked with remedying. To do so, you will descend into the depths of the so-called Hive Lungs, extensive cave systems beneath the planet’s surface, to exterminate the Terminids at their source.

However, this will not be easy, because on the one hand, some completely new and dangerous Terminid variants await you in the bug nests, and on the other hand, you cannot count on stratagem support from orbit underground. This means that you only have the weapons you currently have on you to defend yourself. There are no supplies, space lasers, or nuclear strikes.

But even above the Earth’s surface, you are not safe from the hordes of Terminids. One of the new bug variants, called the Dragon Roach, hunts you from the air. Just imagine a mixture of a beetle and a dragon, and you’ll have a rough idea of what to expect. The Dragon Roaches then cover you with burning acid from the air.

However, the developers don’t seem to want to reveal all the new horrors yet, because in the announcement for the update, they write: Our reports indicate that even larger, more terrifying creatures lurk on the Hive Worlds, suggesting that the Dragon Roach is just a small taste of the other horrors that await Helldivers 2 players in the near future.

To coincide with the new update, a new War Bond titled Dust Devil is set to be released two days later, featuring numerous new weapons such as the AR-2 Coyote assault rifle, the G-7 Pineapple fragmentation grenade, and the S-11 Harpoon. However, you can already secure the Halo: ODST War Bond, which adds the Master Chief’s legendary MA5C assault rifle to your weapon locker – we’ve linked the trailer above.
