As every Thursday, Epic Games is once again offering a new batch of free games. This week, you can pick up an arcade shooter and a building game that you’ve never heard of.
It’s Thursday again and you know what that means:It’s time again for free games at Epic.
Every Thursday, the Steam competitor shuffles the cards and hands out one or more free titles that you can secure with just one click and then keep forever. Epic’s long-term goal: customer loyalty so as not to let Steam take the whole cake in the digital games business.
In the fourth week of March 2026, two lesser-known titles that confront you with completely different settings will be given away: The construction game Havendock sends you to the middle of the sea; in the arcade shooter Hyper Echelon, you’re transported to the vastness of space. Both titles are rated very positively on Steam. We present them to you briefly

Free game number 1: Havendock
Genre: Construction strategy –Developer:YYZ Studios –Release: April 2025
In the construction game Havendock, you are stranded in the middle of the ocean and gradually build a gigantic island colony from simple flotsam. You take in more and more shipwrecked settlers, assign them important tasks and provide your constantly growing community with fresh food.
To make your everyday life easier, you automate tedious tasks and unlock wacky high-tech inventions such as work robots or your own submarines. Despite the complex management systems, the construction simulation deliberately avoids unnecessary survival stress and instead focuses entirely on a relaxed, feel-good atmosphere.
Free game number 2: Hyper Echelon
Genre: Top-down shooter –Developer: GangoGames LLC –Release: November 2021
From the sea to outer space: In the arcade shooter Hyper Echelon, you defend the colorful Cyan galaxy against the malicious Exodon alien fleet. You start your mission in a simple space fighter and gradually upgrade your ship into a powerful fighting machine with penetrating lasers and missiles.
If you play alone, loyal AI wingmen will support you with their special abilities; in local co-op, a second player can optionally take on this role. In addition to an extensive story campaign, the main attraction of Hyper Echelon is the hunt for the high score in the endless survival mode, in which you can prove your skills on a global leaderboard.
How long are Havendock and Hyper Echelon free?You can get both titles for free from Epic until April 2, at 4 p.m. German time. After that, there will be a new batch of free games.

For the sake of completeness, we don’t want to withhold from you the fact that GOG, the former game store of CD Projekt,also has a permanent selection of free titles, including the first two parts of The Elder Scrolls, Daggerfall and Arena.
