Ahead of the Season 2 finale, many fans are speculating about possible twists and revelations. One theory is based on the story of Fallout 4.
Everything points to the Fallout series solving one of its biggest mysteries in the Season 2 finale and showing us what happened to the Ghoul’s (Walton Goggins) family. There was already a clear hint in episode 5.
Fans have various theories about what could happen, and one of them picks up on a central plot twist from Fallout 4.
Happy reunion?
In the Fallout series, the Ghoul has spent over 200 years in the wasteland, but never lost sight of his goal: he wants to find his family, from whom he was separated when the nuclear war broke out. For decades, he has searched the remains of the USA, explored vaults, and earned bottle caps as a bounty hunter.
In the second season of Fallout, the Ghoul is closer than ever to his goal, as Hank McLean (Kyle McLachlan) claims that his family is in a Vault-Tec facility under New Vegas.
The resolution will probably come in the season finale, but fans are already speculating, half-jokingly, about a plot twist that comes from Fallout 4. No, Barb (Frances Turner) and Janey (Teagan Meredith) are not supposed to be synths, but the reunion could turn out differently than the Ghoul imagines.
The (somewhat far-fetched) theory comes from AmatuerTarantino on Reddit:
Crack Theory: Like Shaun from FO4, Janey Howard will be revealed as a grown adult (likely portrayed by Tawny Newsome), working as an indoctrinated executive for either Vault Tec or The Enclave, working on planetary exploration and/or colonization

His idea: Cooper’s daughter Janey was awakened from cryosleep years ago, indoctrinated, and now works for Vault-Tec or the Enclave. Similar to the father of our character in Fallout 4, who has grown up and become the head of the Institute, while we expect to meet a child.
AmatuerTarantino also incorporates an idea buried deep in Fallout lore into his theory. According to this, the Enclave’s grand plan was to build a spaceship that would take humanity to a new planet over several generations.
According to this plan, the Vaults were intended to research the living conditions on such a ship. Janey is supposed to be working on this very project. However, there are no references to this theory in the series so far. Even its creator describes it as a crack theory, meaning he doesn’t take it 100% seriously himself. However, it is certainly no coincidence that the series has so far only shown us Barb and Janey’s cryopods, but not the women themselves.
Perhaps this is just to increase the suspense, but it is also possible that we are in for a surprise regarding the fate of Cooper’s family.
