The late actor Lance Reddick lent his voice to Commander Zavala for over a decade. Accordingly, when news of his death made the rounds in mid-March, it wasn’t just movie fans who mourned. We talk about it, the Destiny 2 community and Bungie honour the actor.

A commander who inspired awe among Keepers with his presence alone: that was Commander Zavala in Destiny 2. After news of actor and voice actor Lance Reddick’s death was shared on 13 March, Keepers paid their respects in their own way. In droves, they gathered in Zavala’s corner of the tower and knelt down. This moving gesture was captured by various community members.

But it’s not just community members who are paying tribute to Lance Reddick for his work in Destiny 2. In a statement last Thursday, the team expressed their condolences and shared that the actor will be with the community for some time to come through some appearances in the Lightfall expansion. So fans can say goodbye to Reddick for a while longer.

Last but not least, we want to show you a clip that Reddick shares on his Twitter account. This is just one of many that show him as a proud dog owner. You can find out more about the shooter and the Lightfall expansion here
