In Crimson Desert, NPCs are being lured into a rather simple but deadly trap!
Crimson Desertis packed with features and content, but as in real life, sometimes it’s the little things that bring the most joy. Things that are only the size of an apple, for example. Okay, you also need a tree trunk for what a player from Korea shows you, but that’s enough for theself-made NPC trap.

Flying apple thieves
You may have noticed this while playing Crimson Desert: The NPCs are little long-fingered thieves. If you drop an item on the ground, especially food, a runaway NPC will happily put it in his pocket. Cheeky.
Players are now taking advantage of this behavior to make the greedy AI inhabitants of the game world fall into the abyss. On Reddit, a user shares a clip of a player from Korea:
I wonder what the Korean players are up to..

The tree trunk is placed over the railing of a bridge and an apple is placed on the free-floating end. Since the NPCs are obviously also struggling a little with the controls, they choose the direct path to the apple.
However, this leads over the railing and then into the abyss.
Community is enthusiastic
Many users under the post are delighted with this very creative use of some of the game’s features. Here are some of the comments:
“Ok, this is great against those annoying villagers who always take my cat’s treats when I drop them.”–Pikauterangi
“I’m 1000 percent on board with that. So many damn people steal the food that’s meant for my dog. And when I throw it on the ground, everyone looks at me like I’m the bad guy.“–Kind-Question6124
“I love how universal humor can sometimes be. Divided by languages, united by killing NPCs in creative ways.“–Jdawgcrane
“Thanks, I just discovered a new minigame to play while I wait for the modders to catch up to the patch.”–Hiply
It remains to be seen whether developer Pearl Abyss has calculated that these features will be used for such shenanigans. In any case, the players like it, and it will be interesting to see what other things they come up with to punish the NPCs for stealing.
