A former Rocket Beans employee will soon be launching his survival MMO. Find out more about the release here

Hauke Gerdes, known to many from the online channel Rocket Beans TV, is launching his own survival game. As has now been revealed via press release, the release will take place earlier than expected. Already this summer, more precisely on 18. July 2023, Coreborn: Nations of the Ultracore will be released on Steam in Early Access.

There already exists a (Page) for those interested and wish lists. Coreborn embeds survival elements in an MMO framework, so it”s very much about togetherness.

What”s Coreborn about?

Players roam together through the world of Tormentosia, which has been almost completely destroyed by the armies of the evil Sorgoth.

After the victory of the evil forces, only the six namesake nations and the social hub Coreheim remained. The realms supply vital resources to keep a new technology called Ultracore running.

The trailer gives you an idea of how it”s supposed to play:

The core elements (höhö) of Coreborn are:

  • Building a village: Together with co-op friends, players are to build a town that serves as a starting point for the adventures. You will also have to build defences against attacks.
  • Crafting and Survival: To be armed for battles, you will need equipment such as weapons and armour that you can craft yourself. There are supposed to be hundreds of crafting recipes, for which you will of course have to collect resources. In addition, there are survival mechanics around hunger, thirst and weather conditions.
  • Cooperation: You will have to stand together against the armies of Sorgoth, among other things in in-game events. To find players for co-op or trade resources, you can visit the Coreheim social hub.
  • Synergies between nations: You join one of the nations, each of which has its own special features. If you build a relationship with players from other nations, you will benefit from synergies in return.

Hauke Gerdes is known at Rocket Beans for his pen&paper stories, among other things. In 2021, he founded the studio Blankhans with friends, whose debut work is Coreborn: Nations of the Ultracore.

What do you think of Coreborn? Will you try out the new survival MMO? Feel free to write your opinion in the comments.
