Table of Contents
1. Resident Evil Requiem
Resi 9 has actually been unveiled – in a somewhat strange format. In the middle of the SGF livestream, it was first announced that we would have to wait a little longer to see the new Resident Evil. Well, it ended up being 20 minutes, because at the end of the show, the trailer was shown after all.
Capcom’s stunt was clearly a success, as the game is currently ranked number one in terms of games with the highest increase in interest.
2. Ill
To clarify: The game is not called “Roman Three,” but “Ill,” as in the English word for sick. You’ll find out why this title fits so well when you watch the reveal trailer. During our late shift, no other game caused as many distorted faces.
Ill stands out from the many new horror games. And that secures it second place in our ranking.
3. The Expanse: Osiris Reborn
Definitely the highlight of the Future Games Show 2025, and a consolation prize for all Mass Effect fans who have been waiting in vain for news. The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is being developed by Owlcat, is set in the universe of the popular TV series, and is heavily based on Bioware’s proven role-playing formula: decisions, story focus, companions, and romance.
Fans of the series are naturally all ears, but Osiris Reborn is also obviously interesting for many sci-fi enthusiasts who are new to the genre. So much so that it’s enough to earn it third place in our ranking.
4. Pragmata
A little bit The Last of Us, a little bit Death Stranding – Pragmata could be a very interesting mix. In this action adventure, you protect a little android girl who spends most of her time sitting on your back and actively supporting you in battle.
Not much is known about Pragmata yet, but it is scheduled for release in 2026 and will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It will be a single-player title, and Capcom plans to reveal more details soon.
5. Dune: Awakening
At Summer Game Fest 2025, the survival MMO Dune: Awakening showed new parts of the universe that were previously only known to fans of the books. We are currently testing the game in several stages, as it is not yet possible to play under real-time conditions in Early Access.
6. Chronicles: Medieval
The Middle Ages are always popular – with us, with you, and with international Steam users. So it’s no surprise that Chronicles: Medieval has secured one of the top spots after emerging as a potential competitor to Mount & Blade 2 at Summer Game Fest 2025.
It promises to combine large-scale real-time battles with role-playing, and there’s also a strategy map of Europe. The developers say you’ll be able to command thousands of soldiers on the battlefield and even found your own kingdom.
7. Atomic Heart 2
Atomic Heart continues! This was revealed at Summer Game Fest 2025. The exact release date for this new excursion into the retro-futuristic universe is not yet known, but we are cautiously optimistic that it will be in 2026 or 2027.
The influence of the extremely attractive female robots should not be underestimated when it comes to attracting attention. The mechanical killer ballerinas were already used to great marketing effect in the predecessor.
8. The Cube
It’s very fitting that The Cube is so close to Atomic Heart 2 on the wish lists – the two games are closely related. While Atomic Heart 2 will be another single-player title, The Cube is an MMO shooter set in the same universe. The cube that gives the game its name is the game world, which changes with every turn, for example by turning the laws of nature upside down. There is also supposed to be a story here.
9. Chrono Odyssey
Chrono Odysseycalls itself a “next-generation action MMORPG.” It relies on the graphics power of Unreal Engine 5, and the new trailer from Summer Game Fest 2025 gives you a good impression of the open world.
The story is about the battle against twelve gods (no, DSA fans can sit down again, not the Twelve Gods) and the manipulation of time. Chrono Odyssey will be released at an as yet unknown date for PC, PS5, and Xbox X/S. A beta will run via Steam from June 20 to 22, 2025.
10. Jurassic World Evolution 3
The third round of dinosaur park construction not only gives you more dinosaurs, but also many more creative possibilities. Dinosaur enthusiasts should be really happy this time around, as the two predecessors offered very little freedom compared to Frontier’s other park games (Planet Zoo, Planet Coaster).
Of course, JWE3 is again based on the movie. You can choose between different game modes such as campaign or free construction.
11. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles
After 28 years, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is finally a remake of the popular tactical game from the PS1 era. It features improved graphics, a new interface, and full voice acting – but you can also switch to the original if you’re in the mood for some serious nostalgia. FF Tactics will be released on September 30, 2025, for PS4, PS5, and PC.
12. Nioh 3
The samurai Souls-like game is getting a sequel – Summer Game Fest 2025 has delivered quite a lot of new additions to this genre. Nioh 3 not only stands out with its magnificent Japanese style, but has also released a playable alpha version, which you can sign up for on the PlayStation Store.
13. Game of Thrones: War for Westeros
For GoT fans, this is probably the best news in a long time (and they desperately need it after all the fuss about Winds of Winter…): A strategy game set in the world of Westeros is coming. Apparently, you’ll be able to follow different story paths than in the series. In the announcement trailer, for example, John Snow becomes a follower of the Night King.
Which of the games mentioned here interests you the most? Or is your highlight of the gaming summer something completely different that hardly anyone else has on their radar? Feel free to share it with us in the comments! We’re seeing a diverse picture emerge here in the editorial office too – although The Expanse: Osiris Reborn has pleasantly surprised quite a few of us in particular.
