In the endgame of the co-op campaign, you’ll find yourself on a huge extraction map, as Treyarch has now announced.
Treyarch clearly wants to break new ground with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Once you’ve completed the shooter’s co-op campaign, it’s not over yet.
In the endgame of the spectacle, a kind of extraction mode awaits you, as the developers have now announced in Dev Talk.
The Black Ops 7 endgame of the campaign
In the latest Dev Talk, Creative Director Jon Zuk, Design Director Kevin Drew, and Gameplay Engineering Director David Young, among others, present the new approach to the spectacular finale of the co-op campaign:
For the first time in CoD history, the campaign will feature an endgame with its own map. In Avalon, you continue the story with your squad of four, but you are not alone.
The most important features of the endgame:
- Replayable PvE epilogue with a total of 32 players
- Dedicated large map: Avalon
- Skill tracks and combat ratings to level up your operator
- Extraction gameplay with permadeath
What awaits you in the endgame
After completing the first eleven co-op missions of the campaign, the new endgame will be available to you. You will find yourself on the vast Avalon map, where you will explore the remaining command centers of the guild. You will encounter various exposure zones where a mysterious toxin is raging.
Before you start, you choose an operator and equip them with weapons, primary and secondary abilities. Once you have put together your loadout, you will be dropped into the Avalon landscape at the start of a round, along with 28 other operators, wearing wingsuits. However, the other players are not your enemies in Endgame.
Together with your squad and the others, you pursue quest objectives and fight AI enemies. In the process, you level up your character via the skill track (different classes such as Gunner and Surgeon) and collect new armor and weapons. However, if you die, you lose your hard-earned progress.
If you survive, your Combat Rating will increase, more abilities will become available to you, and you will be able to enter more dangerous areas of the map.
The XP you earn in Endgame also contributes to your overall game progression. You can use it to advance weapon levels, weapon camos, and any Battle Passes.
Daily and weekly challenges are also designed to keep you entertained. Black Ops 7 will be released on November 14.
