League of Legends can be played on mobile devices in addition to the PC in the form of Wild Rift. In China, the title is immensely successful, as the latest figures show.

League of Legends has been one of the most important pillars of eSports for more than ten years. With Wild Rift, there is also a mobile spin-off that has now risen to an extremely exclusive circle of successful games & apps in China. In the Middle Kingdom, League of Legends: Wild Rift was released in October 2021 and has since achieved sales of one billion US dollars, according to the data site data.ai.

This makes the mobile version of League of Legends one of a small number of titles that have managed to break the magic “one billion” barrier in China. To be precise, it is said to be 101 games (+ Wild Rift) as well as 26 apps.

Currently, Wild Rift is one of the five most played mobile MOBAs in China. In terms of user numbers, the game has so far been beaten by Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Honor of Kings, Arena of Valor and Pokémon Unite. In terms of sales, however, Riot Games has already left the competition from Nintendo behind with Pokémon Unite.
