The first Battlefield 6 players are complaining about unusually high GPU usage in the main menu. Fortunately, you can work around the problem with a simple option.
The fully open beta phase of Battlefield 6 doesn’t start until Saturday, August 9, 2025, but the preload is already behind us. You can even start the launcher and go to the main menu, which many of you are already doing.
Apparently, you’ve had enough time in the start menu to take a closer look at your GPU usage – and a few BF6 players are reporting that it’s unusually high.
“Constant 99 percent” in the menu
Since the preload started, new users have been posting on the Battlefield subreddit complaining about high usage of their graphics cards. It is not possible to narrow down which GPUs are affected. Some users suspect that the fully 3D-rendered menu is responsible for this and is causing your graphics card to overheat.
At least the solution is very simple, according to user reports:
- In the Battlefield 6 settings, you will find the advanced options in the graphics tab.
- In this menu, you can then simply activate the “Frame rate limit” option if necessary.
The name says it all: here you simply set the FPS number to which you want to limit Battlefield 6. Most users choose values between 30 and 100 FPS, which results in a drastic reduction in load.
PSA: Lock your FPS while waiting!

By the way, we are looking for more current graphics problems came across another tip that may help you in your search for more stable frame rates: Leave the EA overlay on.
At least for some users who have benchmark programs like CapFrameX running, this seems to actually result in more stable frame times. However, we can’t explain why this is the case at this point.
