Yes, patches usually improve a game, but in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the last update was followed by crisis meetings and Naoe’s companions. That’s now over.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows ran much more smoothly than its direct predecessor Valhalla when it was released, but that hasn’t stopped Ubisoft from following up with major title updates to iron out the remaining bugs. The only problem is that some patches introduce new issues that no one had anticipated.

This is what happened with the latest title update 1.0.2. It brought eagerly awaited features such as group disassembly and selling of items and a slightly faster horse, but it seems to be causing problems. On the one hand, many players are complaining that they can no longer call their companions, and on the other hand, there must have been a lot of commotion in the background with this group selling. The new patch 1.0.3 reverses the change.

What does patch 1.0.3 fix?

The size of update 1.0.3 varies depending on the platform On PS5 and Steam, you only need to download a few MB, but via Ubisoft Connect, you can expect a comparatively large 9 GB download, and on Xbox, it’s even 11 GB.

However, the content improvements are the same on all platforms:

  • The multiple sale feature in shops has been disabled due to unexpected issues.
  • An issue where the option to call allies was missing has been fixed.
  • Stuttering issues on PC have been fixed.
  • A crash during the prologue has been fixed.
  • A graphical glitch with Yasuke’s outfit after dodging has been fixed.
  • Crashes and visual issues with the Dragon Claw skin applied to weapons have been fixed.
  • The visual customization for this weapon will be re-enabled with this update.
  • An issue with audio loss has been fixed.

Also exclusive to PS5 and PS5 Pro

  • A graphical issue with HDR and PSSR activation on PlayStation 5 Pro has been fixed.
  • Crash issues on PlayStation 5 have been fixed.

Ubisoft is most likely working hard to re-enable multi-sell as soon as possible. In the background, work is also underway on the first DLC for Assassin’s Creed Shadows: The Claws of Awaji is scheduled for release sometime in 2025. We don’t know the exact date yet, but we’ll keep you posted. We’re nice like that.
