Today’s patch brings a breath of fresh air to the game: Update 1.0.7 is now available and includes many improvements. The PS5 version weighs around 9 GB, while the file is significantly larger on PC and Xbox. Ubisoft is responding to numerous requests from the community. In addition to fixing numerous bugs, the developers have significantly expanded the gaming experience.
New talents, more possibilities: The New Game+ mode now allows you to start Shadow again – all progress is retained, from equipment and allies to your hideout. Players can venture through up to eight rounds, with each Nordic run offering new challenges and stronger enemies. This takes the game into a new game loop phase.
More than just numbers: The maximum level has been increased from 60 to 80, knowledge ranks have been expanded to level 9 & 10 and the Blacksmith Upgrade Level 4 has been unlocked. There are also three new trophies for Level 80, Knowledge Rank 10, and the golden katanas, which can only be unlocked in NG+.
What matters now – feature highlights and outlook
Two weapons stand out in particular: the golden long katana Whisper of Gold and the classic gold-plated katana Dragon’s Gold – exclusively available as a final reward in New Game+ mode. These reward weapons have unique perks and are prestige items that rank above the normal variants.

Balance and gameplay also benefit: merchant prices are reduced, you get more resources when dismantling, companions scale with the player’s level, and Ronin enemies now have four health segments instead of three. These changes contribute to a challenging but fairer game.
And what’s next? Ubisoft is planning further updates: The next batch will arrive in September with quality-of-life features such as in-game time changes, an improved map, and unlocked frame rates on PC – and on September 16, the first major expansion, Claws of Awaji, will launch with around ten hours of story, a new region, and new equipment.
Those who pre-ordered will receive this DLC free of charge.
