The new Week 13 Trials have been unlocked in ARC Raiders. The challenges, which went live on January 19, are considered more demanding than the tasks of previous weeks. Players must once again complete five separate tasks to progress in the current season.
Five tasks for weekly progress
The Week 13 Trials consist of five different objectives. All tasks must be completed multiple times to earn enough experience points for the maximum three-star rating. The structure is similar to previous weeks, but the difficulty level has been visibly increased.
The tasks include damage requirements against certain enemy types and interactions with objects in the game world.
Focus on particularly dangerous enemies
A central component of the new Trials is damage against Queens or Matriarchs. These are two of the most dangerous enemies in the game.
The Matriarch appears as part of its own event, while the Queen appears during the Harvester event. Both encounters are risky and require high damage scores.
Reconnaissance tasks on all maps
Other tasks involve so-called First Wave Husks. These are the remains of giant robots from the war. These objects are present on all maps. Finding them counts towards weekly progress, as does interacting with them. Additional enemies may also appear at the corresponding locations.
Air Targets and Known Enemy Types
Another part of the Trials requires damage against flying ARC enemies. This task is considered less complex than other targets, as flying units are regularly encountered in several areas. Certain enemy types pose a significantly higher risk.
In addition, a familiar task returns: dealing damage to Shredders. These enemies were already part of the Trials in previous weeks. They prefer to appear in confined areas and have area attacks that are announced in advance.
ARC Probes return to the Trials
The Week 13 Trials are rounded off by the opening of ARC Probes. These large robotic objects appear randomly on the maps. They do not actively attack, but when interacted with, they make loud noises that can attract other enemies. Completing this task counts regardless of the loot contained within.
Increasing requirements as the season progresses
With Week 13, Embark Studios continues the trend of gradually making the weekly challenges more demanding as Season 2 progresses. In terms of content, the Trials remain clearly focused on existing game mechanics.
