Even the developers probably didn’t expect the ongoing success of Arc Raiders.
Arc Raiders had to compete directly with gaming giants such as Battlefield and Call of Duty upon its release, Escape From Tarkov launched on Steam at the same time, and then there are all the free shooter alternatives such as Apex Legends. And yet Arc Raiders managed to cope with all the competition.
Now, two months after its release, you might think that the hype would slowly be dying down. But the opposite is true: Arc Raiders is even setting new records!
Analyst Rhys Elliot from Alinea Analytics reports (according to gamesradar) twelve million games sold and over three million daily players. This includes all platforms, i.e. PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
On January 4, the extraction shooter broke the 3.2 million mark – the same day, incidentally, that Steam set a new user record!& nbsp;Arc Raiders played a big part in this, currently ranking fourth in the Steam charts and attracting over 439,000 players on that day.
What’s next for Arc Raiders?
There is no new roadmap for 2026 yet, but it won’t be long before new content arrives. After all, the current Cold Snap season ends on January 13.
What exactly awaits us is not yet official. However, there are already a few vague statements about upcoming innovations: The world is set to be expanded and new ARC dangers await players. Since there was no new map in Cold Snap, it’s quite possible that this will happen in the next update. And you can also expect new enemy types. Maybe there will be a new weapon or two as well. Another brand new feature is aggression-based matchmaking in Arc Raiders.
In addition to your skill level and team size, the way you play now also determines who you end up in a lobby with. You can read more about this in the article above.
Feel free to write in the comments what new features and improvements you would like to see in the upcoming updates!
