The release date for Anno 117 was revealed at the PC Gaming Show, and we now know which DLCs will follow soon.

Anno 117: Pax Romana has finally announced a specific date when the building game will hit stores. Let’s not beat around the bush:

  • The game will be released on November 13, 2025.

With the announcement of the release date, it is now also possible to pre-order the game and choose from one of two different editions. But that’s not all: the team has also revealed the first three DLCs, all of which are scheduled for release in 2026.

Platforms: Where will Anno 117 be released?

Anno 117 will not be developed exclusively for PC for the first time. The building game will also be released on current consoles from the outset. Ubisoft is also taking a broad approach on PC this time around. The following platforms have been officially confirmed so far:

New content: What are the most important details about the game?

Here we summarize the most important features of Anno 117.

  • Two regions:Anno 117 is set in ancient Rome and offers two separate regions at launch: Latium and Albion. The former reflects the mild Roman heartland, while Albion represents the Celtic north. We have to choose where to start our journey.

  • First season and DLCs: Anno 117 will also be expanded in future seasons. Ubisoft has already announced the new content for the first Season Pass, which includes three DLCs. The first expansion adds new islands for our expansion. The second brings a new monument into play: the Circus Maximus, the largest arena in Roman antiquity, where chariot races and animal baiting were held. With the third DLC, we can let off steam in the golden land of the pyramids – or simply Egypt.

  • Decisions:Romanization will be an important theme in Anno 117. It will be up to us whether we Romanize the inhabitants of Albion or leave their culture untouched. This introduces a completely new game mechanic, as we can choose which population level should develop next. We can also choose between two characters in the campaign and decide who will rule as emperor.

  • Optional goods:In Anno 117, we always have a choice of several goods to satisfy the needs of a population level. The first level, for example, requires either sardines or groats. However, there are also advantages to obtaining all goods.

  • Religion:Anno 117 gets its own religion system. We assign each island a deity that provides various buffs. There are six gods in total in the game.

  • Research tree:We no longer unlock new buildings and upgrades via population levels. We can also generate knowledge and use it to purchase technologies in a research tree in three categories: economy, civil, and military.

  • Military:Land battles are returning to Anno 117. These take place in real time with direct control over the units. A little like in Total War, but much simpler. To fortify our cities, we build walls and towers, and training an army is closely linked to our economy. On top of that, we can now customize ships modularly with a ship editor.

This is what Anno 117 costs

Anno 117 will be released on November 13 in four different editions. However, one of them is purely digital and two are only intended for physical release. Here is a summary of the contents of all editions:

  • Standard Edition(digital and physical)

    • 60 euros
    • Pre-order bonus

  • Tribun Edition(physical)

    • 60 euros
    • Pre-order bonus
    • Steelbook
    • 3 lithographs with artwork

  • Gold Edition(digital)

    • 90 Euro
    • Pre-order bonus
    • Year 1 Pass

  • Governor’s Edition(physical)

    • 160 Euro
    • Pre-order bonus
    • Year 1 Pass
    • Steelbook
    • Forged Anno symbol
    • Albion and Latium coins
    • Amphitheater 3D puzzle
    • 84-page art book
    • 3 lithographs with artwork
    • Letter from the Town Crier
    • Blueprint

So it’s a pretty typical mix of pre-order bonuses, the first Season Pass, and goodies in the Collector’s Edition. Ubisoft has also already announced what pre-order bonuses will be included:

Pre-order bonuses

  • Town Crier statue:The friendly town crier from the first trailer is getting a statue.
  • Capitoline Wolf Statue:Another cosmetic ornament reminiscent of the founding legend of Rome.
  • Battle Standard:A large pole with a flag flying proudly and crowned by a small statue.
  • Wolf Player Logo: A logo for your player profile in the shape of a wolf.

The first Season Pass takes you to Egypt!

Even more exciting than the pre-order bonuses,is the content of the first Season Pass Ubisoft is apparently sticking to the concept from Anno 1800 and will be releasing three new DLCs with each season. These will usually include two smaller expansions and one large expansion. All DLCs are scheduled for release in 2026.

    1. DLC: New Islands

The very first DLC for Anno 117 will bring several new islands to the game. This will not only give you more space, but also new challenges. The first image and the DLC description mention a smoking mountain, so it’s clear that a volcano will play an important role. To be on the safe side, don’t name your cities Pompeii.

    2. DLC: Circus Maximus

The second DLC brings a new monument to the game. While we already know that the Colosseum is included in the main game, the Circus Maximus will be added in the DLC. Historically, it was the largest arena in ancient Rome and was mainly used as a race track. In Anno 117, this monument is also called the Imperial Raceway and will entertain your citizens.

    3. DLC: Egypt

To be honest, it was pretty obvious and therefore only half a surprise. But now it’s official that Egypt will be the first new session in Anno 117, i.e. the first new area. The country isn’t actually called Egypt, but the golden land of the pyramids, but that’s more than obvious. It will be exciting to see whether a new DLC session in Anno 117 will be as standalone as Latium and Albion.

Since the Gold Edition including the Year 1 Pass costs about $30 more than the basic version, we expect a higher price for the expansions in Anno 117. In Anno 1800, each season cost around 25 euros, but now the price will probably be around 30 euros – maybe even higher. But at least the base game costs the same as Anno 1800.
