Anno 1404 already had a Hall of Fame, and now a similar feature is coming to 117—but with much more powerful benefits.
Anno fans play their favorite building series in very different ways. Some love the campaign above all else, while others spend thousands of hours working on the same game. Others constantly start new rounds. In Anno 117: Pax Romana, a feature is designed to ensure that you experience some form of game progress in every case – even if you constantly start from scratch.
To this end, the team is bringing back the Hall of Fame, which some of you may already be familiar with from Anno 1404. We took a closer look at the Hall of Fame and explain here why you should definitely use this feature if you want to play Anno 117.
This is the Hall of Fame
You can find the Hall of Fame in the statistics screen or directly in the main menu. It is linked directly to your account and requires an online connection. Don’t be alarmed: at first glance, the menu looks like a classic Battle Pass, but the Hall of Fame is not seasonally limited and does not require real money.
You can unlock all the benefits of the Hall of Fame just by playing the game as normal.
The structure of the Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame is divided into regions. There is an area for Latium and an area for Albion. Each region is then divided into sub-levels—five for Latium and three for Albion. At the beginning, you can only unlock bonuses from the first level.
Once you have invested enough points in the first level, you unlock the next level and gain access to the next set of benefits. You can continue doing this until you have unlocked all levels and bonuses.
Important! This does not happen passively. You have to actively go to the Hall of Fame and then choose which benefits you want first. Otherwise, the feature will stagnate.
Earning Fame Points
To unlock bonuses and levels, you must invest fame. You earn these fame points by receiving awards. You can find the awards in the tab next to the Hall of Fame. They are divided into categories and can be unlocked in many different ways. Here are a few examples:
- Settle an island in Albion
- Establish three interregional trade routes
- Build 50 ornaments on an island
- Have a population of 50,000 in all cities
- Conquer an opponent’s villa
- Cover 70 percent of an island with fields only
And so on.
There are a huge number of awards, divided into 11 categories. Once you have all the awards in a category, you can manually (!) claim another 90 glory points.
The biggest advantages of the Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame is worthwhile for many reasons. Here you can get some truly impressive ornaments and cool skins, but also really powerful game advantages. These advantages are then automatically unlocked for each of your games from the start. Here are a few of the most powerful bonuses you can grab in the Hall of Fame:
Latium
- Actorius Maximinus: This specialist ensures that marketplaces within reach generate less costs and much more income.
- Troucotouto: With this specialist, you can more than double your workforce with Liberti and Wanderers (the first levels)! Placed cleverly, you can massively boost your available workforce.
- Roman building materials: You immediately receive 50 boards, 40 bricks, and 30 concrete in your office. The concrete advantage in particular can be worthwhile.
Albion
- Epona & Cernunnos: You can permanently unlock the two Celtic gods, which gives you immediate advantages when playing in Albion.
- Síochániri Bíchearb: The specialist massively buffs the generation of faith and knowledge in all residential buildings within range.
According to Ubisoft, the Hall of Fame will remain free of charge throughout. Anno 1800 also had a similar feature in the form of the Grand Gallery, but this was only added to the game later on and was much more tailored to the scenarios available there.
It is also quite conceivable that the Hall of Fame will be expanded with DLCs. For example, Dawn of the Delta is set to introduce Egypt as a new province to the game. We can imagine that there will then also be another regional advantage area in the Hall of Fame.
