The Nintendo Switch 2 was brutally tested by a well-known YouTuber. The console even withstood a pipe wrench.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been on the market since June 5, 2025. Fans have naturally been putting the console through its paces online. One YouTuber even resorted to using a pipe wrench, only to be quite impressed in the end.

Switch 2 withstands pipe wrench

What the video is about:YouTuber JerryRigEverything specializes in unusual hardware tests and teardowns. Basically, he just takes apart everything he can get his hands on.

Most recently, of course, it was the Nintendo Switch 2. In the video, the YouTuber shows how the console is built, which parts can be easily replaced and which are glued in place, for example.

He also takes a look at the screen and the protective film that Nintendo has placed over it. Nintendo strongly recommends not removing this, but that doesn’t stop JerryRigEverything, of course.

The film is so difficult to remove that it’s hard to imagine it could come off “accidentally.” Things get particularly interesting at the end of the video when the YouTuber tests the durability of the actual display with the help of a large pipe wrench.

You can watch the entire video here (the beating starts at around 11:40):

These are the results:Much to the surprise of the tech YouTuber, it takes almost 50 solid blows to break the Switch 2 display. Many small glass splinters also come loose, which proves the importance of the screen protector.

The console itself still works perfectly with a shattered display, and if the film had still been in place, there would probably have been no splinters flying around. This is of course particularly practical when children are playing with the Switch 2.

Apart from that, JerryRigEverything is very impressed with the architecture of the Switch 2. Despite its rather narrow shape, the device can withstand a lot. In addition, many individual parts can be removed and replaced without any problems, which makes for easy repairs.
