Crossover events have long been more than just marketing. When two universes collide, the resulting energy can sometimes electrify fans of both worlds. That’s exactly what Ubisoft is trying to do with the new Attack on Titan event in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which will be available for four weeks starting on November 25. The timing is clever: the community is in the midst of exploring feudal Japan, and now a gateway is opening to something that feels much darker and at the same time more alien.
“The Whisper of Forbidden Rituals” – A quest that goes deeper than you think
A mysterious woman, an underground chapel, and a cult that went too far
The new quest begins with one of those encounters that immediately arouses unease: a strangely dressed woman named Ada asks Naoe and Yasuke for help. What initially appears to be a simple rescue mission soon leads them to the Underground Chapel, a place that, according to Ubisoft, is marked by “forbidden rituals and monstrous transformations.”
Players enter the event by visiting the quest giver northeast of Yamashiro—provided that Yasuke has already been unlocked.
Not only do new enemies await in the chapel, but also the revelation of disturbing experiments. A creature design deliberately reminiscent of Titans lurks in the shadows, demanding quick reflexes and instinctive decisions.
Those who complete the quest can look forward to several exclusive rewards:
A new katana, additional items in hidden chests, and of course the opportunity to equip their characters with Attack on Titan-themed packs from the store. These include, among other things:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Themed weapons
- A reconnaissance troop mount
For fans of both brands, this is a rare moment in which two completely different worlds come together in a surprisingly organic way.
More than a crossover – New story, new abilities, new puzzle
“Puzzling” brings humor, training, and a cryptic environmental puzzle
Along with the event, the third free story drop called “Puzzling” is also being released. The additional content shows a more playful side of the two assassins as they teach each other unfamiliar skills:
- Naoe practices her own dramatic interpretation of Yasuke’s War Stomp.
- Yasuke learns to execute precise non-lethal stealth attacks.
The quest combines humorous elements with a new, complex environmental puzzle that may provide the community with answers they have been searching for.
An event that could set the tone for the future
With its combination of a dark crossover story, fan-oriented rewards, and additional story content, Ubisoft shows that Assassin’s Creed Shadows not only wants to expand its world, but also wants to experiment.
Do Titans and Assassins really go together? This event provides a clear answer—and it’s surprisingly convincing.
