Urban development in the Middle Ages, urban development in modern times, urban development in a dystopia, urban development in space—these are the usual settings when it comes to building strategies. Life Below wants to shake things up in this area.

Instead of buildings and roads, you’ll be constructing coral reefs and ecosystems Life Below sends you straight into the depths of the ocean. It’s up to you to use the power of the reef’s heart to restore the balance that has been disrupted. On the ocean floor, you carry out your duties by making bait to lure species to your newly created coral reefs. Of course, you must always keep an eye on your resources, impending algae infestations, and other dangers lurking in the depths.

The setting is based on a story by video game writer Rhianna Pratchett, who has written for Prince of Persia (2008), Risen (2009), and Tomb Raider (2013), among others.

Life Below is scheduled for release on PC in 2026, but an exact date has not yet been announced. However, you can already add it to your wish list on Steam
