During this year’s Game Awards, Square Enix presented a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This not only revealed new insights into the story, but also presents the game’s theme song.
The latest trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth focuses entirely on the many characters and their relationship to one another. On the one hand, we take a look at many new characters and their colorful locations. On the other hand, we get new insights into the complex past of Cloud and Zack as well as the growing relationship between Cloud and Aerith.
At the end of the trailer, the theme song from Final Fantasy VII was presented, which appears to be performed by Aerith in the game while she and Cloud take part in a theater performance. It is striking that she wears a white dress decorated with yellow flowers during the performance. As the color white is associated with death in Asian countries, this could be a case of gloomy Foreshadowing. On the other hand, the dress could simply symbolize Aerith’s purity of character.
We’ll probably find out for ourselves when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is released on February 29, 2024 on 2 discs for the PlayStation 5
