The new Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty trailer showcases a bit of what players can expect from boss fights in Team Ninja’s newest game.

Wo Long Fallen Dynasty has received a new trailer showing an intense boss fight. This year the soulslike genre has a lot in store for players, with Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty being one of the most anticipated releases.

The new project from Team Ninja, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is an action RPG set in the Three Kingdoms, one of the most famous periods in Chinese history. In Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, players will see a reproduction of this period that combines action and dark fantasy, while still retaining the elements of Chinese history, culture, and myth. In the game, players will also see famous historical figures from the Three Kingdoms, including the appearance of the legendary Lu Bu.

The new Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty trailer shows an intense fight against Aoye, one of the first bosses. Aoye is a fictional creature that appears in the ancient Chinese text Classic of Mountains and Seas and is described as a being with a bull-like appearance and long hair. In the trailer, Aoye attacks relentlessly with creepy tentacles, launching powerful and fatal area strikes. The trailer also shows a new weapon: the Halberd, a weapon with long-range vertical thrusting attacks like the spear and capable of knocking down enemies like the glaive. Previously Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty got an equally intense trailer showing the game’s monsters and combat system.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is the new venture from Team Ninja, known for the Dead or Alive series. With a long tradition in Chinese and Japanese games, Team Ninja is also famous for being responsible for Nioh, another soulslike action RPG series known for its extreme difficulty and beautiful visuals. While both titles have some elements in common, Team Ninja emphasizes that there are differences between Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty that the player should be aware of.

The new Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty trailer gives another glimpse that will grab most players’ attention without much effort. The fight against Aoye is brutal, as one would expect from a boss in a soulslike game, and it doesn’t skimp on intensity. Team Ninja’s game is inspired by a historical period played extensively in works of fiction, which doesn’t take away from the beauty of what has been seen so far. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has the potential to interest the most avid fans of the soulslike genre, with the Divine Beasts of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty promising to spice up the gameplay.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will release on March 3, 2023, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
