Shortly after the release of the role-playing game, Blizzard launches an unusual promotional campaign with actress Megan Fox.

The world of Diablo 4 is dangerous. Not only NPCs regularly meet with death, but also our characters kick the bucket from time to time. We are surprised by the Butcher, fail in a tough boss fight, or are perhaps eaten by ghouls while we are getting a snack.

But slain heroes should not go unsung: Blizzard has therefore come up with an unusual marketing stunt and has the actress Megan Fox give eulogies to selected characters.

Died like a hero?

On Twitter, the official Diablo account announces the action with a short video of Megan Fox explaining what it’s all about against a suitably sombre backdrop:

To take part in the action yourself, players must share their worst in-game deaths on Twitter or Tiktok, using the hashtag DiabloDeaths . Whoever wins will then get a Eulogy for the character on 8 June, in which Megan Fox laments his heroic, or unfortunate, death.

The comments on the announcement are mostly enthusiastic and exhilarated by the unusual idea. But some are also annoyed, such as ($trawberry Sith):

I wish I had known this before I started playing in hardcore mode.

Other players, on the other hand, show much more commitment. For example, (one user) writes that he would buy the game now, (another) says he would play in hardcore mode up to level 99,999 and die just for the chance to be immortalised by Megan Fox. It seems that the promotion is already a success.

What do you think of the marketing campaign with Megan Fox? Will you also contribute a video of your in-game death to take part in it, or do you feel less of a need to get a eulogy on your character? Maybe you haven’t died in Diablo 4 yet? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
