In the future, there should be more cyberpunk series like Edgerunners
In thelatest investor conferenceCEO Michal Nowakowski was asked about future projects that fall into this category. The Edgerunners anime, which was jointly developed by Studio Trigger and Netflix, was explicitly mentioned
Nowakowski is reluctant to make any concrete announcements, but is diplomatic:
We are definitely planning more animation projects for Cyberpunk – I hope that’s enough of an answer. You can expect more to come, but that’s all I can say right now
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners launched on Netflix in 2022 and can be described in good conscience as a huge success for CD Projekt Red and Netflix The animated series from Studio Triggerimpressed critics and fans across the boardand even gave the role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077an impressive boost in player and sales figures.
What happens after Cyberpunk: Edgerunners?
However, despite its significant success, Edgerunners has never been continued to this day.At the end of 2022CD Projekt Red also made it unmistakably clear: Edgerunners was conceived as a standalone project from the beginning and there were no plans for a second season.
It is not currently known which new animated films and/or series CD Projekt Red is currently working on. Fans will have to be patient in this regard.At least one thing is certain:A live-action adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077 is also planned.However, there are almost no details on this either, only the prospect of a very long wait.
