A new CS2 leak shows fully modelled cartridges. We tell you why this is good news, especially for fans of skins

A leak hints at possible new animations and skins in Counter-Strike 2. While the leak may seem unimpressive at first glance, the news could herald bigger things to come and especially please fans of skins.

New skins?

A dataminer and founder of the Classic Offensive Project ZooL has shared an image on Twitter showing a magazine from Counter-Strike 2 containing fully modelled cartridges.

What at first sounds like no real news, however, could have huge implications.

But why model cartridges at all that are inside a magazine and thus not visible in play?

For ZooL the answer is obvious, he suspects that Valve is planning transparent skins for Counter-Strike 2. Accordingly, we could watch our magazine emptying as we shoot.

Counter-Strike 2 would not only be the first CS game to fully model cartridges, but also use transparent skins.

New animations in CS2?

ZooL also assumes that CS2 will have new animations that could be related to the cartridges. Modified firing and reloading animations are likely to be at the top of the list.

Also possible would be new and rare Inspect animations, as they were already used for some weapons in CS:GO. The best known are probably the Falchion knife, the Desert Eagle and the revolver.

Since new knife skins have already been discovered in the code of Counter-Strike 2, it is quite possible that we can expect more new skins soon.
