A first image for Warzone 2 Season 5 shows not only three new Operators, but also the return of a legendary weapon in Call of Duty.

As Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded slowly but surely draws to a close, the release of the final season ahead of Modern Warfare 3 is drawing ever closer. On Call of Duty’s official X account, a promo image now not only announces the return of a familiar villain from Modern Warfare 2, but also brings us back a long-awaited weapon.

Old familiar face

After several leaks about the new CoD title Modern Warfare 3 in the last weeks, where among other things the new perk system, changes to the minimap and details about the new Warzone 2 map came to light, the developers are now going on the offensive and have shared an image on X, which, if you take a closer look, opens up first glimpses of Season 5.

The image not only announces the return of Modern Warfare 2 villain and Shadow Company leader Phillip Graves, but also the arrival of two new operators named Oz and Mila, who by their appearance are also part of the private mercenary force.

Attentive observers may have been directly struck by the weapon used by Oz (centre of picture), which will add to our arsenal of assault rifles in Warzone 2 in the future.

Although somewhat modified and modernised, the typical bullpup shape of the French assault rifle FAMAS is clearly recognisable. The weapon first found use in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and has since been featured in various CoD titles.

Under the name “FR 5.56”, it was last available in Modern Warfare (2019) and has since been awaiting its return in Warzone 2.
