Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is presented for the first time as a direct sequel – and its trailer is reminiscent of sci-fi films such as Matrix and Inception.
The Black Ops series is entering the next round – and this time with a premiere: Call of Duty Black Ops 7will be the first direct sequelwithin the Black Ops series. Treyarch and Raven Software want to create the “most mind-bending” Black Ops experience yet, according to the official announcement – and the teaser trailer already promises a lot in this regard.
What to expect in CoD Black Ops 7
Black Ops 7 picks up where Black Ops 2 and 6 left off and transports you to the year 2035:A world on the brink of chaos, dominated by high-tech weapons and psychological warfare, forms the grim backdrop. A manipulative enemy uses fear as his most powerful weapon – and you must face him.

- Setting & Story:The year is 2035, more than 40 years after Black Ops 6, in a world torn apart by conflict and psychological warfare. David Mason leads a team in the fight against a manipulative enemy who uses fear as a weapon.
- Campaign:For the first time in the Black Ops series, you can play the campaign in co-op – but you can also play solo, of course.
- Multiplayer:The popular multiplayer mode returns with new maps and futuristic weaponry.
- Zombies:Black Ops 7 introduces the next round of Horde mode.
- Gamepass: Like Black Ops 6, the new CoD will be available on Microsoft’s subscription service from day one.
- Platforms:Coming to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Battle.net and Steam).

The road to the full reveal of Black Ops 7 begins with the teaser released today. Activision promises more details and surprises for summer 2025. So we can expect a comprehensive presentation including gameplay footage in the coming months.
