Modern Warfare Remastered was released in 2016, but is now suddenly appearing in the Steam top sellers. The reason is the release of a fan project

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfareis still not only considered one of the best parts of the series, but also one of the greatest shooters of all time, even for our editorial team. The remaster of Modern Warfare from 2016 has now unexpectedly landed in the international top sellers on Steam. The reason for this is probably the upcoming release of an ambitious project calledH2M

What is H2M?

The H2 Multiplayer Mod is a large fan project that ports the entire multiplayer ofModern Warfare 2from 2009 intoModern Warfare Remastered. This means you can play in every mode and on all maps from the original and use the entire arsenal of weapons from Modern Warfare 2. In addition, some levels from the single player have even been converted to multiplayer maps.

But why are the fans going to such great lengths? It’s because of the official remaster of Modern Warfare 2, which only includes the shooter’s campaign, but not its multiplayer mode

What disappointed many fans back then, the H2 multiplayer mod is now supposed to make up for. The fan project is currently being tested and will be available to all players free of charge on August 16 if they own Modern Warfare Remastered. The mod can then be downloaded from the developers’ website

at the time of release.

This probably explains the rush for the remaster on Steam. Here, the game is selling even better than Black Ops 6,the latest installment in the shooter series, which will be released in October. A promising start for the H2 multiplayer mod, which many CoD experts are already reporting on YouTube.

Of course, Activision itself could still stand in the way of the fan project’s success. In the past, modders have been forced to cease and desist, such as in the case of SM2.

What about you? Would you like to play a modernized version of Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, or would you rather wait for the release of Black Ops 6?

In addition to the H2 multiplayer mod, there are of course other exciting releases on the horizon. Our shooter expert Kevin has tried out an early version of the multiplayer shooter Delta Force and is convinced that a promising Battlefield competitor awaits.
