How much content is actually in the new Battlefield? And how does the game compare to other titles in the series? We’ll tell you.
The launch of Battlefield 6 is just around the corner, so let’s take a look at what EA’s new shooter has to offer starting October 10. To do this, we’ll compare the content of several games in the series using concrete figures. Spoiler alert: The winner is just as clear as the unsurprising loser.
The EA deal: Background on the new owners
In September 2025, it was announced that EA would be privatized and transferred to an investor consortium for approximately $54 billion. The new owners of EA include the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund PIF and Affinity Partners, Jared Kushner’s investment firm. Saudi Arabia is accused of political and human rights repression, such as the persecution of activists and journalists. There is also deep-rooted discrimination against minorities. Freedom of expression is structurally suppressed.
Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law, has repeatedly been criticized for dubious real estate deals, secret contacts with the Russian government, and allegations of corruption. Kushner also maintains close contact with Saudi Crown Prince and PIF Chairman Mohammed bin Salman.
Let’s go back 15 years and take a look at the content that the Battlefield games had to offer at launch. For a better overview, we have illustrated the figures in a table.

Winners and losers
Battlefield 4 is the absolute frontrunner in almost all categories. The game was released with the most primary weapons, vehicles, and maps.
Bringing up the rear is Battlefield 2042 with just 19 primary weapons, 14 vehicles, and 7 maps at launch. Of course, the Portal mode added quite a bit more, but this content all comes from older games.
Battlefield 6 stands out with 9 maps, but is far behind with only 15 vehicles. However, the 41 primary weapons would rank second in a ranking, so there will be no shortage of firearms to choose from at launch.
Of course, the “content” category also includes other things such as modes, weapon attachments, skins, or more abstract things such as a progression system with ranks or social features.
However, weapons, vehicles, and maps are the core content of every Battlefield game and are therefore well suited for comparison. All of the games in the series listed, including Battlefield 2042, have of course received numerous new content updates since their release.
