A new shooter giant is setting the Steam servers alight this week, flanked by dark horror adventures, simulations, and roguelites.

A new week is upon us, and it’s going to be a big one: October is here, and a wave of new releases is rolling onto Steam. While fans of horror adventures, simulations, and roguelites can look forward to numerous exciting titles, one huge blockbuster is naturally stealing the spotlight. As we do every Monday, we’ll tell you which games are coming out in the next few days, when they’ll be released, and what you can expect.

Highlight of the week: Battlefield 6

Genre: Shooter – Developer: DICE – Release date: October 10, 2025 (Steam)

The Battlefield series returns and aims to raise the bar for multiplayer battles once again. The sixth main game promises to deliver the ultimate all-out warfare experience once more – but this time in a much more grounded setting.

In gigantic battles with dynamically destructible maps, up to 64 players (instead of 128 in the previous game) compete against each other, using modern weapons and technology and experiencing a wide variety of locations, from densely populated metropolises such as New York and Cairo to open landscapes in Tajikistan (full of snipers).

DICE is focusing on a mix of chaotic action and tactical moments that have been thrilling fans for years. The global launch will take place on October 10 at 5 p.m. ET – keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming campaign and multiplayer impressions until then!

More Steam releases of the week

Monday, October 6

  • DAIMON BLADES (Early Access): In this brutal first-person slasher, StreumOn Studio combines the depth of classic action RPGs with the replayability of roguelites. You embark on expeditions alone or in four-player co-op, vote on where to go, and must find builds with synergies to survive in the demon realm.

Tuesday, October 7

  • Deathground (Early Access): Survival horror full of dinosaurs, in which you travel alone or in co-op with up to three friends through dark research grounds. Thanks to procedural objectives, a dynamic lighting and weather system, and intelligent predator AI, no two rounds are alike. To escape, you’ll need to move quietly, set traps, and improvise constantly.

Thursday, October 9

  • Blue  Protocol: Star Resonance: This anime MMORPG from Bandai Namco entices players with colorful graphics, fast-paced action, and an open world. You can create your own hero, hunt dungeons together, or relax with friends in the capital city.
  • Little  Nightmares 3: The spooky adventure enters its third round and lets you play together for the first time. You slip into the roles of Low and Alone, two children who, as in the previous games, puzzle their way through a nightmarish world full of bizarre monsters.

  • Absolum: Rogue-lite meets beat ’em up – this game mixes classic brawler gameplay with randomly generated levels. As outcast heroes from the world of Talamh, you’ll engage in turn-based combat, constantly collect new upgrades, and attempt to overthrow the tyrannical ruler.
  • Bye Sweet Carole: In this hand-drawn horror journey, young Lana searches for her missing friend Carole. The mix of (hopefully) exciting story and puzzles is reminiscent of classic animated films. You can expect a very artistic horror trip here; the trailer is definitely worth a look.

  • Yooka‑Replaylee: Playtonic returns to close out the week with a revamped version of its colorful 3D platformer.

October is off to a strong start with Battlefield 6 and Little Nightmares 3. But that’s not all, of course – in our big preview video, you can see all the big and small highlights again this month. Including: role-playing games (Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 and The Outer Worlds 2), shooters (Arc Raiders) and much, much more!
