BF6 introduces the Assault Ladder, which opens up exciting possibilities – but also raises sniper fears among fans.
When Battlefield 6 is released on October 10, 2025, we can look forward not only to new maps, weapons, and gadgets, but also to a tool that could completely turn the battlefield upside down.
DICE has now unveiled the Assault Ladder, an extendable ladder for the Assault class that allows you to reach or bridge walls, building edges, or other higher ground.
Social media warns of the “roof party.”
As exciting as the possibilities sound, unrest is already spreading on X. Many players still remember the open beta, in which resourceful fans managed to get onto the roofs of the Cairo map via a glitch. From there, snipers were able to fire on entire teams almost undisturbed.

Now some people are worried that the Assault Ladder could lead to exactly these kinds of situations happening again:
- @BattlefieldNET:
I think the ladder itself is a good gadget. But you have to be careful not to use it to reach the rooftops. Otherwise, you’ll have a permanent rooftop party of snipers in Siege of Cairo. In comparison, the few glitch users during the open beta were nothing…
- @Tac_Recon takes a more relaxed view:
I understand the complaints, and these snipers are damn annoying, but wouldn’t that be the case in a real war? There would be snipers on the rooftops, and you’d have to take them out, flank them, or bomb them with an air strike.
- Others, such as @ChicoNefario, hope that the new ladder will improve exactly that:
The ladder should make it easier to flank campers.
The extent of the impact will only become clear once the game goes live. Combined with respawn beacons and clever team play, the Assault Ladder could become an exciting gadget – or a source of much criticism, depending on how restrictive DICE is in specifying where it can be used.
However, it is likely that DICE will keep an eye on the balance. After all, the developers already confirmed after the beta that the roof glitch from Cairo had been removed – and they probably want to prevent this discussion from flaring up again.
The Assault Ladder is just the beginning. In addition to the new version of the EOD bot for the Engineer class (more on this in the link box), at least one more gadget for Support or Recon will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
We’ll find out whether the ladder is really just a useful tool – or whether it will reopen the party on the rooftops of Cairo – by the launch on October 10 at the latest.
