After a live weekend, the community has drawn its first conclusions about Battlefield 6. Although the shooter already does a lot of things right, players still see room for improvement in seven areas.
Battlefield 6 is finally here. With the 18th installment in the series, developer DICE wants to restore its long-serving shooter series to its former glory – and after the first live weekend, the community largely agrees that this endeavor is fundamentally successful. Both in terms of setting and overall gameplay, Battlefield is finally back.
On Reddit and other social media platforms, players are already busy sharing their first impressive kill streaks and memorable Battlefield moments. But amid all the euphoria, there is also criticism, because even in the eyes of fans, Battlefield 6 is not yet perfect.
A tweet from Battlefield Lead Producer David Sirland asking the community for feedback on the game, many players took the opportunity to write down both their praise and their biggest criticisms of Battlefield 6.
Seven points keep coming up here and in other posts, which is why we’ve collected them for you here.
The seven biggest criticisms of Battlefield 6:
Slow progression: One of the community’s main criticisms concerns the agonizingly slow unlocking progress for weapons and attachments. In Battlefield 6, you earn these not only by simply leveling up, but also by completing so-called challenges. And from the perspective of many players, these are completely excessive.
For example, to unlock the KTS100 MK8 assault rifle, you have to take down 300 enemies with light machine guns and cause 10,000 damage with hip fire. Even for very good players, this takes quite a while. In theory, these challenges can also be completed in bot matches, but that’s not really any fun. So some players are asking themselves: Who the hell came up with this?

Maps too small: The maps are also currently causing dissatisfaction, as many long-time Battlefield fans feel they are simply too small. This means that the real Battlefield feeling is missing. According to the unanimous feedback from many players, DICE should expand the boundaries of the maps so that vehicle gameplay is fun again.
Currently, air combat is very cramped: with the jet, you quickly race beyond the boundaries of the map and have little time to turn back. The infantry also needs more space to really unfold, otherwise meat grinders would quickly develop in certain areas of the maps.
Please keep the feedback coming! With the first weekend for BF6 in the wild, we are bound to have found issues, problems, stuff you like to see change—perhaps even praise? It’s still all good, I want to know. And the team is eager to show you how much we care!

The Revive Situation: The fact that many players feel medics are not doing their job properly is something that is criticized in every Battlefield game. And the developers can’t really be blamed for that. However, many players believe that the developers could make reviving wounded players much more appealing in order to finally put an end to this misery – for example, by introducing a revives section on the Battlefield 6 scoreboard.
C4 too weak: Among other places, many players complained on Reddit about the supposed uselessness of the plastic explosive C4. Even with four blocks of it, you can’t blow up a tank in the release version of BF6. That’s clearly too weak. To get stronger C4, you first have to level it up specifically.
C4 just aren’t what they used to be.

Ongoing XP boosts: Unlike its predecessors Battlefield 4 and 2042, XP boosts in Battlefield 6 currently continue even when you’re not playing. For example, if you spend 45 minutes clicking through the menu to look at new weapons and try out attachments, your XP bonus clock will still tick down relentlessly, meaning you’re actively wasting it. Players think this has to stop.
Excessive spread: While the weapons in Battlefield 6 shot straight ahead like lasers during the beta phase, the high spread is currently causing frustration. The so-called bloom ensures that the bullets do not all fly to the same spot, but are scattered across the target area. However, according to many players, this dispersion is too wide and inaccurate, making it difficult to take down even close enemies with just a few shots.
Faulty hit registration: In this context, the poor hit detection is also frequently criticized. Due to the high dispersion and heavily loaded servers on the launch weekend, even obvious hits at close range were often not recognized as such by the game. Players do see a hit marker, but they do not cause any noticeable damage to the enemy.
