Over 20 minutes of gameplay show helicopters, the new Capstone map, and a streamlined HUD for the first time.

There are new leaks about Battlefield 7 again – and over 20 minutes of gameplay from the playtest. The focus is on the brand-new Capstone map, spectacular vehicle action, and a revamped interface that many of you are likely to enjoy.

New map, revamped UI, and more

This is the new map: Capstone is set in Tajikistan and stands out with its linear layout – with multiple flag points that make for exciting front lines.

Buildings await you in the north, while the south is dominated by rubble. If you’re now thinking of the Golmud Railway map from Battlefield 4, you’re not far off: the map’s structure is very reminiscent of this fan favorite.

As you can see in the video, jets and helicopters were also playable for the first time in the playtest. The soundscape is impressive across the board, with the roar of the rotors and the screech of the engines definitely giving you goosebumps as the machines thunder across the battlefield.

The effects when a helicopter is shot down, for example by a well-aimed RPG hit, are also spectacularly staged. However, according to initial tester impressions, the flight mechanics of the jets still feel like a placeholder and are strongly reminiscent of Battlefield 2042 – this is likely to be improved before release.

The revamped UI is also a plus for immersion: The interface has been significantly streamlined. Where previous playtests featured a HUD full of displays and symbols filling the screen, everything now looks tidier and clearer.

Another exciting detail: The new weapon modification system is more similar to hardcore shooters such as Tarkov than to previous Battlefield games. Each weapon can be equipped with numerous attachments and ammunition types, with a points system limiting the maximum amount of equipment.

There are also many smaller improvements The spawn system for vehicles is back to the roots of Battlefield 4, the thick lines from earlier tests have been made much more subtle in the capture zones in Conquest mode, and there is a shooting range where you can thoroughly test your modded weapons.

There is no official release date for Battlefield 7 yet, but we expect it to be released in fall 2025, or spring 2026 at the latest.
