Season 1 of Battlefield 6 left many players with mixed feelings, but there is much more planned for the shooter. A leak now gives us a glimpse into the future.

In Battlefield 6, the release of the second chapter of Season 1 means that most of the new content for 2025 has been checked off. There will be a winter event in December, but we’ll have to wait until the start of Season 2 for new maps, weapons, and vehicles.

Officially, nothing is known about future content yet, but the well-known and reliable data miner Temporyal has already dug up quite a bit of information. Since this information comes from the game files, it is credible, but there is no guarantee that DICE will not change its release plans after all.

Weapons, Water, and Air Support

Probably the most important news for many fans: the Little Bird is coming back! This small and agile combat helicopter has only appeared in single-player and Portal so far, but is expected to fly in multiplayer in Season 2. Temporyal has also already figured out how the helicopter can be customized:

Primary weapons

  • Minigun (7.62 x 51 mm)
  • GAU 19 (.50 BMG Gatling machine gun)
  • LR 30 (30 mm autocannon)

Secondary Weapons

  • APKWS (laser-guided missiles)
  • Hellfire (guided anti-tank missiles)
  • Hydra 70 (unguided rockets)
  • Stinger (anti-aircraft missiles)

Equipment

  • Flares (block missiles and target acquisition)
  • Motion sensor (detects enemies)
  • Thermal smoke (blocks target acquisition)

Passenger

  • Thermal scanner (thermal vision that allows enemy marking?)
  • Directional jammer (presumably disables specific vehicles)

Temporyal has also unearthed some new weapons in the game files, but their release dates are mostly still uncertain:

MG5 (Season 2)

No specific details are known yet about the Heckler & Koch machine gun, but the real-life model has a rate of fire between 640 and 800 rounds per minute. The magazine holds either 60 or 120 rounds.

Bren 2 (release date unknown)

An assault rifle developed in Czechia. The real-life model has a 30-round magazine in its standard version and fires 850 rounds per minute. It can also be configured for three different calibers.

Scorpion Evo 3 (release date unknown)

A weapon that has appeared three times in Battlefield. Depending on the version, the real-life model is categorized as either a submachine gun or a carbine. It comes with a 30-round magazine and a rate of fire of 1150 rounds per minute. In the games, however, the rate of fire was usually slightly lower.

Skorpion VZ. 61 (release date unknown)

An extremely compact submachine gun, the real-life model has a rate of fire of 750 rounds per minute and can be equipped with 10, 20, or 30-round magazines.

But that’s not all! Temporyal has also discovered four new gadgets and a vehicle:

  • The Airburst Grenade Launcher fires projectiles that explode in flight to take out enemies behind cover.
  • The GL40 STKY fires sticky grenades that adhere to surfaces, vehicles, and soldiers.
  • The M320A1 AT is particularly well suited for use against armored vehicles.
  • The new RGO grenade, which explodes faster but causes less damage.

A jet ski, a fast watercraft that can carry one or two soldiers, will likely be added as a vehicle in Season 3. However, it is unclear whether the jet ski will only be released as an addition to Battle Royale mode or whether it will also find its way into multiplayer. In the latter case, this would mean that we will get a map with water areas in Season 3. It remains exciting!
