Even before its release on the same day, Battlefield 6 is getting its first update with several bug fixes and improvements. We’ll tell you what’s most important and have the complete patch notes.

  • Battlefield 6 will listen to the concerns and wishes of the community, as the developers repeatedly emphasize. Shortly before release, there is now another update for the shooter, which is intended to reflect feedback from the beta and Battlefield Labs tests. We summarize the most important points for you and, of course, provide the complete patch notes on page 2 of the article.

    What’s new in Patch 1.0.1.0?

The update makes some major gameplay adjustments, some of which were already communicated after the end of the beta:

    • Movement has been reworked: Sliding slows down your jumps less, you jump less high, and you shoot less accurately while jumping and sliding.
    • Weapon handling has been adjusted: Among other things, recoil has been changed and other adjustments have been made.
    • Rush and Breakthrough have been improved: The modes should now offer a better balance between attackers and defenders.
    • Netcode updates have been made: You should now die less often extremely quickly, be shot while seemingly in cover, and take damage from invisible sources.
    • Helicopters have been strengthened: They are now more maneuverable and respond faster to your inputs, making flying and evading easier.
    • Tanks with more mobility: They now turn their turrets faster. Smoke countermeasures are also more effective.
    • The M87A1 shotgun has been weakened: It now requires more precise hits to kill with a single shot.

These are the most important improvements from the Day One patch. In addition, several changes have been made to the maps and the user interface has also been improved. The update also includes a lot of bug fixes. You can find the complete list of patch notes on page 2. If you’re still not sure whether you want to play Battlefield 6 right after its release, take a look at our test impressions. In the box above, you’ll find our campaign review and Phil’s initial multiplayer impressions after 20 hours of play. Our final review with a rating will be available in the coming days. For today’s release, our ticker will keep you informed about the latest developments and any server issues.
