The bug 1004g causes connection problems on the servers of Battlefield 2042. Electronic Arts is working on a fix for the bug.

A new bug is causing problems in Battlefield 2042 and prevents players from connecting to the servers. The error code 1004G is currently being investigated by the developers.

The error code seems to occur since update 3 on 2 December. Some fans are unable to join an online match due to connection issues. The developers are already aware of the bug: they announced on social media on Thursday that the bug is being investigated. A short time later, it was announced that a fix had been implemented.

According to comments, however, there still seem to be connection problems, both with the PC and with the console.

Those who also encounter the bug should first try to rejoin the match several times. If this does not work, it might help to switch between different game modes. You should also check whether the connection problem is actually caused by EA or by your own internet connection – restarting the router could help. If the message 1004g still appears after all these measures, you simply have to be patient for further fixes from EA and DICE. We will keep you up to date on new changes.
