007 First Light will soon receive a free DLC. IO Interactive plans to reveal more details on October 1. Clues suggest new driving content.
IO Interactive has announced a free DLC for 007: First Light. However, the studio is keeping specific details under wraps for now. More information is expected to follow with the release on October 1.
Mysterious announcement on X
In a short teaser on X, a picturesque landscape featuring a lake and mountains is shown as a vehicle speeds through the scenery. Along with this, IO Interactive posted a message stating that a free DLC is just around the bend.

The already-known roadmap for 007 First Light is fueling speculation in particular. In it, IO Interactive announced, among other things, a new mission featuring Lenny Kravitz’s song “Bawma.” The mission is set to take players back to the dangerous black market of Aleph in Mauritania, with a focus on off-road driving. The reference to driving fits well with the current teaser. However, it is not yet known whether there is actually a connection.
The new content would not be the first free content update for the game. With the “Behind Enemy Lines” update (version 1.1.0), the game already received additional tactical simulation missions, a new weapon, further cosmetic content, and a new outfit for Bond. IO Interactive also plans to release more content for the Tactical Simulation Mode later this year.
First Light is set to be expanded further in the long term
A New Game+ mode has already been announced and is scheduled to be released later this year. However, the studio has not yet explained exactly how the mode will work.
Meanwhile, players on the Nintendo platform will have to continue to be patient. The Switch 2 version has been delayed again and is now scheduled for release in March 2027. IO Interactive cited additional optimization work as the reason, to ensure the game runs as smoothly as possible on Nintendo’s current generation of hardware. Some fans are therefore hoping for a standard physical version instead of a game key card.
There is already speculation about a possible sequel: Amazon Gaming manager Jeff Gattis was very positive about 007 First Light and stated that a sequel seems quite likely. IO Interactive itself, however, has not yet announced a second installment.
